Plan Your Wedding at Colorado State Parks

If you envision that picture-perfect wedding amid beautiful scenery under Colorado's blue sky, consider spending that special day at Colorado State Parks.

Many parks are ideal locations to host weddings and other special events across the state. If you are thinking about an outdoor spring, summer or fall wedding, consider what State Parks has to offer.

Here are a few ideas:

  • The Visitor Center Overlook at Ridgway State Park can host up to 100 guests and provides a stunning backdrop of the San Juan Mountains for that picture-perfect wedding.
  • Lory State Park has three group facilities suitable for weddings: South Eltuck picnic area can host 50 guests and overlooks Horsetooth Reservoir, Soldier Canyon can accommodate 100 and sits at the mouth of the canyon, and the Timber picnic area is nestled in the sandstone hogbacks with room for 100 guests.
  • On the Western Slope, Highline Lake State Park is perfect for larger weddings, with room for 150 guests in its group facility.
  • Roxborough State Park offers wedding locations that offer spectacular views of the red rocks. The Fountain Valley and Lyons Overlooks can accommodate small weddings up to 20 people and the Visitor Center courtyard has a 60-person capacity.
  • With its deep canyon walls that frame South Boulder Creek, Eldorado Canyon State Park offers stunning scenery for that memorable day.
  • A peaceful retreat on the plains, Jackson Lake State Park can host up to 100 guests. The group facility also provides plenty of entertainment with a horseshoe pit, sand volleyball court and a nearby swim beach.
  • The rolling hills of Vega State Park and its 100-person group picnic area are ideal for an outdoor wedding. The Meadows Group Picnic Area has group barbecue grills, and a large meadow for sports, games and dancing!

Brides and grooms can also choose these beautiful outdoor settings for their ceremony and then head to another location off site for their reception if they wish to include alcoholic beverages in their celebration. Park staff can assist you with necessary permits and facility details. Contact the park of your choice for reservations, availability and pricing. After the celebration, honeymoon with us by staying in one of our cabins, yurts or guest house so you can spend some relaxing time outdoors exploring our beautiful parks.

Wedding gift idea! A Colorado State Parks Annual Pass makes a great wedding gift for the active, outdoor couple!
