Support Your Parks, Volunteer!
If you like to spend time in the great outdoors and you care about our environment and protecting our natural resources, Colorado Parks and Wildlife is for you!

Volunteer opportunities abound at Colorado's State Parks. Learn more about what it's like to volunteer at Colorado's State Parks or how to become a volunteer.

STILL LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEER CAMP HOSTS!
The campground host program is one of our most popular volunteer opportunities. Hosts receive a free campsite and utilities for the duration of their volunteer services. Campground hosts greet and assist campers with information about the park and facilities, assist in daily campground operations, perform minor maintenance tasks, and promote interpretive activities. Campground hosting is the perfect opportunity to help the park while enjoying the summer in a beautiful setting!

Participate in the 21st Arkansas River Cleanup GreenUp  on May 19th. Lots of food, prizes, entertainment and fun for all!

THANK YOU to all of our volunteers for the innumerable and outstanding contributions they provide to the State Parks' system!

Colorado's State Parks has a long and rich history of utilizing volunteers as members of our Parks team. Some of our individual parks have actually had volunteers involved for over 20 years! In 2003, a Volunteer Program Committee, made up of park staff and volunteers from across the state, helped to craft the mission and vision for our statewide program and to set priorities for the Volunteer Program Five-Year Strategic Plan and long-term success.

In 2011, volunteers contributed over 205,000 hours of service to our agency. Since volunteers play such an essential role in helping State Parks achieve a high quality of outdoor recreation experiences and resource stewardship, it's fortunate that State Parks happen to provide wonderful locations to attract potential volunteers like you. Our vision is:

"Through meaningful integration of volunteers, State Parks will provide extraordinary visitor services and remarkable stewardship of our natural resources."    Volunteers weeding

The State Parks Volunteer Program "supports the achievement of quality outdoor recreation experiences and resource stewardship for present and future generations." Volunteers help achieve this mission by assisting staff with all park related activities.

We need your help as a volunteer to increase the public’s understanding of conservation and natural resources by serving as a park naturalist, campground host, photographer, special events assistant, trail host and much, much more.
