Steamboat Lake State Park
Sand Mountain in Steamboat Lake, by Brent Lounsbury

One of the true jewels of Colorado, Steamboat Lake State Park has something special for everyone.  Whatever your preference, well-deserved relaxation and recreation awaits you.
Hahn's Peak frames the breathtaking scenery of this premier park offering family fishing, camping, picnicking, trail and boating recreational opportunities.  A full-service Marina and swim beach provide amenities for active water play.

Winter comes alive with snowmobiling, ice fishing, and peaceful cross-country skiing or snow-shoeing in a valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains.  Ten camper cabins down by the Marina welcome adventurers for a cozy night.

Camping
Boating

Camping at Steamboat Lake offers a spectacular opportunity to immerse yourself in clean, crisp air
and true Rocky Mountain living.

The Dutchhill campground is open currently for first-come-first-serve. The water should be on by this weekend.  Sunrise Vista will be opened soon.
Reservations for 2012 are up and ongoing.  They may be made between 3 days and 6 months in advance of your arrival, with a first reservable date of May 25th.  For detailed summer campsite information please click here

Our camper cabins are open and reservable year-round by contacting the Steamboat Lake Marina at 970-879-7019, or through their website by clicking here.

At 8,100' in a place where the Colorado sky seems just a bit bluer, our 1,053 surface acre lake rests in valley surrounded by mountains and views of the continental divide.

Our lake is open to boating from May 1st through November 1st each year, as icing conditions permit.

Please be aware that all vessels entering the lake must be inspected for Aquatic Nuisance Species.  Inspections may be done at the boat ramps, the Visitor Center, or by any Ranger in the field.

Safety equipment is a must!  Do you have enough functional life jackets, a sound producing device, and other important items?  Current boating regulations are available here.  Please do NOT drink and boat!
