AHRA Update - Friday, August 26, 2011
Please note the following updated/changed Arkansas River flow information:
The BOR has changed the date of the below noted mandatory inspection of the outlet structure at Twin Lakes. The inspection will now occur on September 1st, not August 30th as indicated below. In addition, the BOR has arranged for the Board of Waterworks Pueblo to release water from Clear Creek Reservoir to make up for the reduced flow out of Twin Lakes during this maintenance window to avoid creating decreased flows “a hole” in the river. For example, currently 174 cfs is being released from Twin Lakes. Therefore, if this release remains the same on September 1st, the Board of Water Works Pueblo would increase the release from Clear Creek Reservoir an equal amount during the maintenance time period to avoid any decreased flows.

AHRA Update - Monday, August 22, 2011
On August 30th the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) has scheduled a mandatory inspection of the outlet structure at Twin Lakes. Therefore, starting at 10:00 am and continuing until approximately 2:00 pm the gates at the outlet structure will be closed, completely eliminating (except for approximately 2 cfs) whatever native release may be occurring at the time.
The Board of Water Works Pueblo currently plans to stop the 75 cfs release from Twin Lakes on Tuesday (09/06/11), not in mid October as noted below.
In addition, it should be noted that without any noticeable precipitation in the upper reaches of the valley this past week+, the native component of water continues to drop… hence the lower flows we are currently seeing throughout the AHRA.

General Announcement - Friday, August 12, 2011
Currently there is no Voluntary Flow Management Program (VFMP) water in the Arkansas River within the AHRA.
The Board of Water Works Pueblo is currently releasing 50 cfs from Clear Creek Reservoir (reservoir operations not associated with the VFMP).
The Board of Water Works Pueblo is also currently releasing 75 cfs from Twin Lakes (reservoir operations not associated with the VFMP).
The Board of Water Works Pueblo currently plans to stop the 50 cfs release from Clear Creek Reservoir on Tuesday (09/06/11).
The Board of Water Works Pueblo currently plans to stop the 75 cfs release from Twin Lakes sometime in mid October.
If by chance the river should drop below 700 cfs (as measured at the Wellsville Gauge) over the weekend (8/13 - 8/14) the Bureau of Reclamation will increase the release of Board of Water Works Pueblo water from Twin Lakes to maintain at least 700 cfs (as measured at the Wellsville Gauge) through 8:00 am on August 15th…. then the release would return to 75 cfs through mid October as noted above.
