Mancos State Park in Southwestern Colorado is a haven for the year-round outdoor enthusiast and traveler.
In the spring, summer and fall, canoeists, kayakers and wakeless power boaters enjoy the calm waters of Jackson Gulch Reservoir. In the winter, hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails await in the San Juan National Forest. The West Mancos Trailhead is just two miles from Mancos State Park. As spring arrives and the snow melts the Aspen Loop Trail in the San Juan National Forest is a favorite for Off-Highway Vehicle adventures.

Mancos State Park’s two
yurts provide visitors with an alternative to RV and tent camping. You can reserve a yurt year-round. Yurts are reminiscent of tents used by nomads on the steppes of Mongolia and Siberia. The yurt is a round tent on a wooden frame with circular skylights and windows to provide light. The ceiling fan and screened windows and door let the breezes flow through to keep the yurt comfortable on warm summer days. The yurt’s insulated walls and propane heater/gas-log fireplace keep it warm in the winter.
