Hikers can enjoy easy wildflower walks between Oak Point and Island campgrounds or along the South Road and near the Meadows Group Shelter Area. For a more strenuous two-mile natural surface trail through aspen forest and mountain shrub vegetation begin at the OHV parking lot. This trail doubles as a snowshoe trail in winter months.

The trail begins at the Snowmobile/OHV parking lot and ends at Cattleman's Meadows. The new 2.32-mile cross country ski trail has varying slopes and is groomed when conditions allow. This trail starts at the Visitors Center. Visitors can access the Grand Mesa for hiking, trail biking, and off highway enthusiasts in the summer and snowmobiling, cross-countryskiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
The OHV/snowmobile staging area is located in the southwest corner of the park provides parking with easy access to Grand Mesa via Forest Road 262 (Park Creek Road).
