Sylvan provides serenity in an alpine park perfect for daydreaming. Non-motorized boating and non-electrical camping offer the opportunity for quiet recreation at this gateway to the White River National Forest and the Holy Cross Wilderness.
Overnight visitors can
camp,
stay in a cabin or lounge in a yurt while gazing at majestic mountains piercing the deep blue sky. At Sylvan Lake State Park, visitors leave the fast pace behind.
Year-round, Sylvan is a break from the daily grind. It's home away from home. Spring, summer and fall are all about fishing, hiking, nature study, boating (non-motorized or electric trolling motors, only) and picnicking. Winter’s blanket of snow provides snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice fishing and access to snowmobile trails.
For 2013, due to changes in US Forest Service Travel Manangement Rules Sylvan Lake State Park and surrounding USFS Roads will be closed to Off Highway Vehicles. For more information select the "Off Highway Vehicle" tab on the left.
