Sylvan Lake State Park Camping

Located in the Heart of the Rockies, Sylvan Lake is a haven for those who enjoy the outdoors.  At 8,500 feet in elevation, visitors to Sylvan Lake discover a high mountain scene with aspen, pine and fir forests bordering green, grassy meadows. It is a place to truly get away from it all and reconnect...not even cell phones work at this peaceful park.

There are a total of 46 campsites.  Sites 1-34 in Elk Run Campground include sites with views of the lake or down the Brush Creek Valley. Sites 35-46 in Fisherman's Paradise Campground are set up for side by side parking and while you are right next to your neighbor they are popular for their location overlooking the lake. Sites accommodate tents, trailers and RVs.  There are no individual site hook ups.  The camper services building provides hot showers and flush toilets during summer.  Water is available. Vault toilets are available year-round.

Each campsite accommodates up to two tents, or one tent and one RV, with a maximum of six people per site and no more than two vehicles.  Pets are allowed, but must be on a 6-foot leash and all pet litter must be picked up.

A group campground for up to 60 people is available mid-May through September.  Please call the Visitor Center at 970-328-2021 starting January 1st for group site reservations.  

For 2013, individual campsite reservations are available for the nights of May 17 through September 30.  Sites may be reserved from 3 to 180 days in advance. Reservations are strongly recommended during this time, especially for weekends, holidays and stays of more than two nights.
