Boating

The boat ramp is now open. Boats must be inspected prior to launching. Boat inspection hours will be 10am - 6:30 pm Monday-Thursday. 8am - 6:30pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Hunting

Waterfowl hunting is permitted on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as DPW regulations allow. You MUST have a valid park pass displayed in your vehicle to enter the park. Overnight stays to secure a hunting spot are not pemissible. Please use the self service station at the entrance of the park to purchase your pass.

Park Entrance

Park hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm October 1st thru April 30th; May 1st thru September 30th 8:00am to 10:00pm. Please call our Crawford office at 970-921-5721 to verify whether staff will be available at the Sweitzer office. You must have a valid park pass displayed in your vehicle to enter the park every day of the year. Purchases may be made by cash or check only at the self service tube at the entrance of the park or at the office when staff are on duty.

Road Conditions

The gate to the east side of the park will be closed after it has rained or snowed, unless it is cold enough to be frozen. Moisture makes the road impassable. The bridge over the dam has been removed. This means that the only public access to the North Side day use area is by boat.
