Boat Ramps - 5/17/2013 The Marina boat ramp is open. Boat inspections are available at the Visitor Center or by a Ranger in the field. Boating - 5/17/2013 The lake is ice-free and we are open for boating! Please be aware that aquatic nuisance species (ANS) inspections are mandatory on all trailered vessels. Inspectors are available during most daylight hours at the Marina boat ramp. You may also stop by the Visitor Center or request an inspection from any Ranger in the field. Camping - 5/17/2013 The Sunrise Vista and Dutch Hill Campground is open for camping, however the Camper Services Building is closed for maintenance. Basic sites are $18/night and electric sites are $22/night. The camper cabins are reservable year-round by calling 970-879-7019 or through www.steamboatlakemarina.com. Reservations for our high-use summer season are highly recommended! Reservations for 2013 may be made between 3 days and 6 months in advance, with a first reservable date of Friday, May 24th and a last reservable date of Monday, September 9th. They may be made by calling 1-800-678-2267 or online at www.reserveamerica.com. Cell Phone Coverage - 5/17/2013 Good in most areas of the park. Fire Restrictions - 5/17/2013 You may have a fire in the campground within approved fire grates and grills. Please use caution! Make sure your fire is completely extinguished before leaving it unattended. Fishing Report - 5/17/2013 We are having strong fishing reports from all areas of the lake. We went ice-off less than a week ago, the water is still cold, and this is the best time to fish here! Hunting - 5/17/2013 Licensed hunters during regular seasons may legally hunt on the southwest side of the wakeless line--generally the Rainbow Ridge and Meadow Point areas are the most popular. Please call or stop by the Visitor Center for more information. Icing Conditions - 5/13/2013 We are ice-free as of today, 05/13/13. ***No ice is safe ice, so please exercise extreme caution when accessing iced-over water. As falling through can be fatal, equipment such as a lifejacket and ice-awls are recommended. Road Conditions - 5/17/2013 Open. Seasonal Closures - 5/17/2013 The swimbeach is still closed. Swimming Conditions - 5/17/2013 Our swimbeach is closed for the season. Steamboat Lake's swimbeach is adjacent to the Marina parking lot. The water quality is tested regularly while open during the summer. Colorado State Park swim beaches do not have lifeguards on duty. Swim at your own risk. Children must be supervised by adults at all times. Anyone wishing to swim in the lake, outside of the swimbeach, for training purposes may contact the Park Manager for a special use permit. Such swimmers must be accompanied by a vessel bearing an orange flag. Trails - 5/17/2013 Open. There may still be some mud and snow in shady spots. Water Levels - 5/17/2013 High.
