Amphitheatre - 5/14/2013
The amphitheatre is located next to the Arrowhead Group Picnic Area for campfire and interpretive programs.
Boat Ramps - 5/14/2013
Stagecoach has two boat ramps - one on the north shore of the reservoir, and the other in the Morrison Cove area. The north shore ramp is serviced by the Marina offering rentals, a fuel dock, and basic fishing and camping supplies. The Morrison Cove area ramp offers picnic areas and vault toilets.
Campgrounds - 5/14/2013
There are four campgrounds at Stagecoach State Park. The Junction City and Pinnacle campgrounds border the reservoir and feature 30 amp/125 volt electrical hookups, water, showers, flush toilets, and a dump station west of Pinnacle campground. The Harding Spur campground is a basic campground with water and the McKindley campground has primitive sites with vault toilets. All campsites have a picnic table and fire ring/grill. Dump Station - 5/14/2013
The dump station is available for use by registered campers generally from May 15 until October 1 when facilites are shut down for the winter.
Entrance Station - 5/14/2013
The Entrance Station is staffed 7 days a week Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend. You may purchase passes, registrations or camping permits at the station, at the self-service stations or at the park office.
Group Campground - 5/14/2013
The McKindley group campsite offers tent camping and/or small RV camping and is available by reservation only. Please contact the park office at (970)736-2436 for more information or to make reservations.
Group Picnic Area - 5/14/2013
The Arrowhead Group Picnic Area seats up to 60 people and offers horse shoe pits, flush restrooms, electricity, a covered pavilion, grills, and is close proximity to the reservoir. The group picnic area is available for reservation by contacting the park office directly at 970-736-2436.
Marina - 5/14/2013
The Marina, located at the north end of the park, rents pontoon boats, fishing boats, canoes, stand up paddle boards and paddle boats. During the summer season, the Marina is open Memorial Weekend through Labor Day weekend.
Park Office - 5/14/2013
The Park Office is open year round, 7 days a week from 8-4:30 to purchase passes, hunting and fishing license, camping permits, registrations and for general information.
Picnic Sites - 5/14/2013
Picnic tables are located throughout the park's trails, campsites and day-use areas. The Keystone and Haybro day-use areas offer both picnic tables and grills. The Arrowhead Group Picnic Area is available on a reservation basis. Contact the park at (970)736-2436 for more info.
Showers - 5/14/2013
Coin operated showers are available throughout the summer in the Marina building next to the Pinnacle campground. The showers will be shut down for the season on October 1.
Swim Beach - 5/14/2013
The Swim Beach, located at the Marina, has a sandy beach, picnic tables and a sand volleyball court. There is no life guard on duty. Swim at your own risk. Please remember no pets, glass, or fires of any kind are allowed on the beach. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult 18 years or older. The water level of the reservoir will be lowered late summer to accommodate spring runoff. This can impact the swim beach leaving a small section of water open for swimming by the end of summer.
Trails - 5/14/2013
Six trails provide excellent recreation opportunities at the park. On the north side of the park are the 1/4 mile Pinnacle Peak Trail, the one mile Overlook Trail, and the one mile Lakeview Trail. The six mile Elk Run Trail runs along the south side of the park from the inlet to the dam. The wetlands trail is a 1/4 mile trail on a floating board walk with wildlife viewing opportunities along the way. The 1/4 Tailwaters Trail is the primary access for the river below the dam. The Overlook, Lakeview, and Elk Run Trails offer excellent hiking, biking and equine opportunities in the summer and snowshoeing or cross country skiing in the winter.
