We currently have approximately 3.5 miles of unpaved roads and trails suitable for leisurely bicycling.
Birding - 4/24/2012
St. Vrain is home to the largest Great Blue Heron rookery in the state. In addition to these year-round residents, visitors can observe migrating waterfowl, songbirds and raptors. During the winter, St. Vrain is home to bald eagles. For more information, check out the park’s bird list.
Boating - 4/24/2012
Vessels that are hand or foot propelled, or with electric trolling motors are permitted on the ponds. Inflatable devices that contain two or more chambers are also permitted. All vessels must be hand launched. Boaters have to adhere to Colorado Boating rules and regulations.
Camping - 4/24/2012
St. Vrain is conveniently located off I-25. The newly modernized campsites fill quickly, so please reserve. We currently do not have group camping facilities. Groups are welcome in our campgrounds, but the maximum number of people per campsite is six and a two tent limit per site, if tenting.
Fishing - 4/24/2012
The ponds offer bluegill, crappie, large mouth bass, pumpkinseed, perch, catfish and rainbow trout. Trout fishing is excellent during the spring and fall. When the fish are biting, the park is a great place to teach children how to fish. Check either the main page fishing report or the "Conditions" report for updated information. Bowfishing for carp is permissible with a valid fishing license.
Hiking - 4/24/2012
Flat, easy trails make a leisurely stroll around the park a comfortable experience. There are three trails in the park that are named for the pond that each trail encircles. They are Pelican pond, Bald Eagle pond and Coot pond trails. Muskrat Run Trail also is 1 mile in length and encircles Sandpiper Pond.
