Boating - 4/24/2012
Boats with electric motors and non-motorized boats are allowed on the pond. However, boats must be hand launched because there are no boat ramps available to use.
Camping - 4/24/2012
The north campgrounds are electric sites only and are $20.00 per night, Mallard Loop and Sandpiper Loop are open. Pelican Loop is closed for the winter. Full service sites are located in the south campground and are $24.00 per night; Red Tail Loop and Bald Eagle Loop are open. Tail Feather, Coot, and Kestrel Camp loops are closed for the winter. Campsites are off reservations and are first come first serve. Note: Beginning May 1st, a $2.00 fee will be added to each night on all camping permits.
Construction - 4/24/2012
Construction is still occurring in the Blue Heron Reservoir area. THE PARK IS OPEN AND CAMPSITES ARE AVAILABLE.
Fire Restrictions - 4/24/2012
We currently do not have a fire ban. However, fires are only permitted in designated grills and fire rings. Conditions are very dry, please be careful. FIREWORKS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
Fishing Report - 4/24/2012
Sandpiper, Mallard and Coot ponds were stocked with trout several times this spring and will be stocked frequently through the spring. Fishing for trout is good at this time. Please be aware that the bag limit for rainbow trout is four per person per day and is strictly enforced. Fishing for warm water species is beginning to pickup and continues to get better as the water temperatures warms. Please note that Bald Eagle Pond has the following Restrictions: 1. Fish with flies and lures only. 2. All bass must be returned to the water immediately. PLEASE REMEMBER TO CARRY YOUR FISHING LICENSE WITH YOU WHILE FISHING.
Icing Conditions - 4/24/2012
All ponds are ice free at this time.
Road Conditions - 4/24/2012
All roads are open into the park. Please adhere to the posted speed limits for the protection of our visitors and wildlife.
Swimming Conditions - 4/24/2012
For health and safety reasons there is NO WADING or SWIMMING in any water at the park.
Trails - 4/24/2012
There are four trails open for use. Pelican Pond Trail Trail is a 1.3 mile trail that encompasses Pelican Pond, Bald Eagle Pond Trail is a 1 mile trail that encompasses Bald Eagle Pond, Coot Pond Trail is a 1 mile trail that encompasses Coot Pond and Muskrat Run Trail is a 1 mile trail that encompasses Sandpiper Pond. Some trails maybe closed temporarily due to construction in the area.
Water Levels - 4/24/2012
All the ponds are full of water.
