The boat ramp is currently closed due to low water levels. If you are planning on boating at a different park or body of water pre-inspections are available, by appointment Thursday-Sunday, and you can obtain a green seal for your boat which is valid at any Colorado State Park or Colorado body of water where inspections take place.
Camping

Campgrounds are currently open for first-come, first-serve until May 15. The reservation season runs from May 15 -September 3, 2012.
Fishing Report

Fishing is poor for trout.
Seasonal Closures

The wildlife area is closed annually from February 15 until July 15, for waterfowl nesting. This includes trail closure through the area. Call the Park at (719)378-2020 with questions about San Luis State Park.
Trails

San Luis State Park is open for day use. Trails in the wildlife area north of the lake are closed annually from February 15 until July 15th. This closure is due to wildlife nesting.
Water Levels

Low. Water level is relatively the same as last fall. It is not anticipated that the water level will be high enough this summer for boat launching, although small boats can be launched from shore.
