Cabin Information
About Your Stay in the Cabins We want your visit to Mueller State Park and your stay in the cabins to be a memorable vacation experience. Please follow these simple but very important guidelines:
Safety and Comfort
Environment and Weather The scenery is beautiful, but Colorado weather can surprise you with some extreme conditions all year long. It is not uncommon to see snowflakes in the high country in July and at 9,700 feet altitude, the sun’s damaging UV rays can cause severe sunburn. Please take these simple precautions when planning your visit to the park:
Sunscreen Everyone loves to be outside on a beautiful summer or winter day. To avoid harming to your skin, we suggest using sunscreen at all times applied liberally and often!
Clothing The cabins are warm and cozy no matter what the season! But Colorado weather at over 9,500 feet altitude can change very quickly. Pack for all conditions every month of the year. Hot, cold, wet, windy… be prepared and don’t forget a hat and sunglasses!
Water Located in a high environment, the air at Mueller State Park is dry and the sun is hot. Please ensure you drink plenty of water, particularly when you’re outdoors enjoying the beautiful scenery atop Pikes Peak. You will find safe, drinkable water in all the cabins.
Wildlife and Terrain Colorado is host and home to a broad variety of animals in its high mountain areas. It is not uncommon to see some of America’s most known and recognized wildlife here. Bears, mountain lions, fox, raccoons, eagles, hawks, chipmunks and more call Mueller State Park home. All are fun to watch and photograph, but please, for your safety and the safety of the animals, DO NOT feed, disturb or approach any of the wildlife you encounter here.
