Welcome to the Campsites Page! This is a fairly new page so please bear with us as we fill out more details of each campsite.
All campsites at Highline Lake State Park can accommodate tents or RVs. RVs are not allowed on the grass and there are no electrical hook-ups. A dump station, water spigots, and dumpsters are provided. Each campsite is equipped with a grill, fire ring, and picnic table. Tents may set up anywhere in the grassy areas behind the campsite as long as they are not encroaching on another campsite. Capacity for each campsite is six people (and yes, children are people too :). If more than six plan to camp, contact the Visitor's Center during business hours. Most campsites are a mix of sun and shade. When attempting to get a site as a walk-up, not all sites may be available during the week due to watering. For the best chance of getting the specific site you want, please make a reservation at least three days in advance through the state reservations system. For more information on services and reservations, please navigate to the Camping Page.
Campsite 1 is close to the campground entrance. It is a short walk across the park road to the beach and a dumpster is across the campground entrance road. This campsite shares a gravel access road with campsites 2 and 4 so if you have some friends you want to circle the wagons with, reserve all three!
Campsite 2 is just across the road from the beach. It is also home to a giant cottonwood where owls have been known to frequent in the spring. This campsite shares a gravel access road with 1 and 4 so bring friends and reserve all three!
Campsite 3 is just across the road from the beach. Shade is provided by cottonwood and pine. It is just across the campground road from campsite 6 if you plan to bring a friend. Between you and the shrub-lined park road is a large strip of green space with trees for the kids to run around in.
Campsite 4 lays in a triangle with campsites 1 and 2. Enjoy the proximity to the beach and a little more distance from the park road than 1 and 2.
Campsite 5 is directly across the campground road from 4. Enjoy the large shared green space behind the campsite full of grass and trees. Located not far from the entrance or camper services this shady site will be perfect for fun in and out of the campground.
Campsite 6 offers proximity to camper services, the camp hosts, and has an on-site water spigot. You won’t have to go far if you need fire wood, a shower, or just to drop off some trash. Bringing a friend? Campsite 3 is just across the road or campsite 8 is a good neighbor with some green space in between.
Campsite 7 is reserved for Camp Hosts.
Campsite 8 shares green space with sites 6 and 10. Right across from the camp hosts and close to camper services this spot is great for camping convenience. Laundry, hot showers, firewood, and good company are never far away.
Campsite 9 is reserved for Camp Hosts
Want to be close to an event in the Group Area while maintaining your own space? This campsite is adjacent to the Group Area and the farm field. It is also close to sites 12 and 14. It is a back-in site, one of only 2 in the campground.
One of only 2 back-in sites available in the campground, 19 is situated in a 'corner' of the campground where 11.8 Road and the farm field intersect. There is a lot of green space around this site because of its corner-lot status.
Campsite 22 is Handicap Accessible. The pull in area is paved, with a wide paved porch area. The fire ring has packed gravel around it. This spot is backed by a farm field. If not in possession of a Handicap Permit you may be asked to move from this site if someone holding a permit requires it.
This corner campsite is located where the park exit meets 11.8 Road. Campsite 27 has an amazing amount of green space pretty much to itself! This site is a favorite of those acting as host to family reunions where you need a lot of space to gather together for meals and campfires but get to send everyone back to their sites for sleep.
