Camping is now first-come, first-served until May 2012. Loops A and C at Reverend's Ridge and the Cabins and Yurts will stay open for the winter. Aspen Meadow campground has closed. Please contact the visitor center with any queries 303)-582-3707.
Fire Restrictions

Campfires and charcoal grills are permitted in designated pits and grills throughout the park. Be safe this season - extinguish all campfires and grills properly.
Fishing Report

Five of the ponds were last stocked with Trout on October 5. Golden Gate Canyon State Park offers five fishing ponds open year round to all park visitors. The ponds are Kriley, Slough, Ranch Ponds East and West, and Dudes Fishing Hole. Each angler is allowed four fish per day with eight being the maximum number in position. Anglers have the best success in the early morning and the hour before dark. No live baits are allowed with the exception of worms. Please call the Visitor Center for directions at 303-582-3707.
Hunting

Hunting will be open for the season as of September 6, 2011.Division of Wildlife Hunting Licenses are required. ALL hunters must sign the hunter log book, located in the visitor center. The log is kept on the visitor center deck outside of office hours. The park allows a maximum of 35 hunters per day.
Park Entrance

The Visitor's Center is open daily from 9am- 4pm. In addition, there are self-service stations at all entrances to the park and at various locations with-in the park to purchase your daily park pass.
Road Conditions

Mountain Base Road has closed for the winter. The north end of the park can be accessed via highway 119 and Gap road.
Seasonal Closures

Shower house, dump station, and laundry facilities have closed for the season. All but Loops A and C in Reverend's Ridge Campground have closed. Aspen Meadow campground has closed.
Swimming Conditions

Swimming is not allowed in any of Golden Gate Canyon State Park's ponds.
Trails

35 miles of trails await you - Come up and explore. All trails are currently open. Please be sure to check trail restrictions, some trails are for hiking only, while others are open to multiple use. There is no motorized use allowed on any of the trails. All trails are open and mostly clear of snow.
Winter Conditions

All trails are open. Golden Gate received over 2 feet of snow last week. Snowshoes are recommended. The sledding hill by the Visitor Center is in great shape. Great trails for snowshoeing include Horseshoe,Snowshoe Hare, Raccoon, and Blue Grouse to Mule Deer trail. Mountain Base Road has been groomed from Golden Gate Canyon Road to Ole' Barn Knoll - Perfect for snowshoers and cross country skiing. Conditions change rapidly, so please call the Visitor Center for the most up-to-date information (303) 582-3707.
