Gate Canyon provides visitors with several different camping options. For camping reservation information, or to reserve your campsite today, visit our reservations page.

Dogs are permitted in both of our campgrounds and in the backcountry. They must be on a 6-foot leash at all times and can not be left at your site unattended. Please pick up after your dog.

The cabins and yurts are open to the public year-round by calling the reservations office at 1-800-678-2267 or (303) 470-1144. A limited number of campsites at Reverend's Ridge campground are open in the winter on a first-come, first-served basis through the self-service station located in the campground. Campsites can be reserved starting Memorial Day weekend through the end of September. Reservations can be made year-round from a minimum of 3 days in advance up to six months in advance.

Reverend's Ridge
Campground has 97 sites and accommodates trailers, pickup campers and tents. Facilities include flush toilets, shower and laundry facilities and a dump station. Some facilities are closed during cold weather months. Fifty-nine campsites at Reverend's Ridge have electrical hookups. Each pedestal has 20, 30, and 50 amp capability. Non-electrical sites are $16 per night, $18 per night May 1st- Sept. 30th. Electrical sites are $20 per night, $22 per night May 1st- Sept. 30th. A $7 park pass is required for each vehicle. Each site is limited to a maximum of 6 people. View the Reverend's Ridge Campground Map now.

Reverend's Ridge office is located off of Gap Road. The office is open seven days a week from Memorial Day weekend through September 30.  Phone: 303-642-3856.

Aspen Meadows
Campground has 35 sites for tents only. Facilities include a water pump, vault toilets, and designated campsites with table, fire rings, and high use tent pads. All sites at Aspen Meadow are $16 per night, $18 per night May 1st- Sept. 30th, plus the vehicle park pass. Each site is limited to a maximum of 6 people and two tents. Sites 15 and 16 will accommodate horses. Campers have the option of tethering, cobbling, or erecting a temporary corral for their horses. There is room to park a traditional horse trailer at both of these sites, but not a combination horse trailer/rv.  Please call the park for specific information. There are two water sources in Aspen Meadows Campground. One hand pump is located near site # 31, and one "jug filler" at Meadow Loop site #8. Please bring extra water containers to minimize trips to the hydrants.

Backcountry Camping
For those who want a more primitive and somewhat unique camping experience, there are four backcountry shelters available at Golden Gate Canyon State Park. These three-sided structures, which are built in the Appalachian trail-hut tradition, have roofs and wood floors. Each hut can sleep up to six people without a tent. Shelters are $10 per night, $12 per night May 1st- Sept. 30th, plus the $7 vehicle park pass.

In addition to the four shelters, there are 20 backcountry tent sites open year-round . Many of these sites are located in large, scenic meadows and are surrounded by 10,000 foot peaks. For more information check out the backcountry camping map.

Backcountry camping permits must be obtained at the Visitors Center. To ensure safety, NO fires are allowed in the backcountry. Each site is limited to a maximum of 6 people. These tent sites are $10 per night, $12 per night May 1st- Sept. 30th, plus the $7 vehicle park pass.

Works Ranch Cabin and Group Camping Area
A secluded cabin and group camping area that can house up to 30. With outdoor eating area, fire pits and grills, this is a perfect site for family groups or friends. Pets are not permitted at the Works Ranch. Reserve through the Visitor Center : 303 582 3707. More information
