Elkhead State Park
Elkhead State Park in the beautiful Yampa Valley of Northwest Colorado is an oasis in the high desert.
This 900 acre reservoir provides endless recreational opportunities. They include, but are not limited to, boating, swimming, jet skiing, skiing, picnicking, wildlife watching, hiking, camping, meeting friends and neighbors, bird watching, biking, horseback riding hunting and fishing and many photo opportunities.
The newly built campground at Elkhead (Bear's Ears) has been a long awaited camping opportunity by many locals. Because Elkhead is the only water recreation area in Moffat County, many people use the park as a mini vacation get-away. The campground sits majestically over the reservoir and offers convenience for boaters, skiers and fisherman not ready to end their day.
