Cheyenne Mountain Park Management Plan

The Cheyenne Mountain State Park Management Planning Team (Planning Team) initiated development of the Cheyenne Mountain State Park Management Plan in Summer 2011.  This plan will serve as a comprehensive tool that that will enable park staff to plan ahead for short-term and long-term investments and priorities related to all aspects of park budgeting, development, and administration (including use of the Top of the Mountain area).  The Planning Team hopes to finalize this plan by Fall 2012.

As part of this planning process, the Planning Team invited members of the public to our first open house meeting held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Cheyenne Mountain Junior High School.  This meeting provided the Planning Team an opportunity to share general information about the planning process and solicit additional ideas and feedback for further improving this wonderful park.  To view informational materials that were available at this meeting, please visit the "meeting materials" link at left.

Based on public feedback, as well as recommendations generated by the Planning Team, a draft will be developed and made available for public review.  The Planning Team will schedule another public open house meeting in Summer 2012 after presentation of a draft park management plan to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission (possibly in June - check the CPW Commission site).  Please check back to this site periodically for the latest updates.
