Barr Lake is open to boating. All trailered (or motorized) vessels need to submit to an ANS (Aquatic Nuisance Species) inspection. Pre-inspections are available; stop in at the inspection station or call for more information. Thanks for a safe and fun boating season!!!

Please remember that all trailered (or motorized) vessels are required to be inspected for ANS. Our inspection hours are Friday through Sunday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or by appointment.

New spillway construction is complete! The Perimeter Trail is back open again.
Fire Restrictions

Barr Lake State Park is now under a fire ban per the Adams County Sheriff. This means charcoal and wood fires are prohibited. Smoking is prohibited unless you are in a vehicle. Propane or any other gas-fueled stoves are permitted.
Fishing Report

Lots of nice trout have been taken in recent weeks including a 3 lb 21 inch rainbow just today (4/23)! Bass have been biting on worms north of the boat ramp. Walleye should be done spawning and are probably getting hungry. Make sure you have a valid park pass and fishing license and good luck! Come check out our fishing clinic on Saturday May 5th from 9 am to 1:30 pm.
Hunting

Waterfowl hunting is now closed for the season. Call 1-800-846-WILD for blind reservations. All rules and regulations apply. No other hunting is allowed at Barr Lake State Park.

The Gazebo boardwalk is now open. The new Rookery View Trail is closed for construction untill further notice.
Trails

Bicyclists beware of goatheads that can pop tires. Thorn-proof tubes are recommended. Horse riders beware of new steep grade section of concrete at the East end of the Dam (MP-7).
