Mammals of St. Vrain State Park

Beaver at St. VrainWithin the park, mammal residents such as rabbits, muskrats and meadow voles are commonly seen.  However, many of our mammal species, such as beavers, mink, mule deer, and coyote, are either elusive or nocturnal and therefore somewhat difficult to see.  If you are interested in observing some of these creatures, ask a Park Ranger or the Park Naturalist for information about their whereabouts in the park!

For a complete list of the mammal species found at St. Vrain, check out our Mammals of St. Vrain Brochure.
