The East boat ramp is open as of March 15, 2013. The West boar ramp is closed; it is not far enough into the water to open as of now . The Lane 19 Ramp remains closed.

Camper Services Building

The Camper Services Building at John Martin is located in the Lake Hasty Campground. It offers flush toilet facilities, coin-operated showers, and coin-operated laundry facilities. The Camper Services Building is open!

Campgrounds

The Lake Hasty Campground is all electric (20, 30 and 50 amps at each site). Back-in sites are at least 60 feet long, and pull-through sites are at least 120 feet long, accommodating any size RV, motor home, trailer, camper or tent. Natural or man-made shade is available at each site in Lake Hasty. Potable water is available in the Lake Hasty Campground, and the dump station is just across the road. The Point Campground has basic sites (no RV hookups) for when the summer gets busy, with sites overlooking the reservoir. For more information, check out the "Camping" link on John Martin’s main page. Some sites are closed from Nov 1 to March 15 for bald eagle nesting habitat. Campground is accessible 24/7/365.

Dump Station

A dump station is located across the road from the Lake Hasty Campground and remains open year round. However, water is only available April to the first of October.

Entrance Station

Park entrance is allowed 24 hours a day. If the station is closed, please use the self-service station to purchase your required pass.

Fishing Piers

A universally accessible fishing pier is located on the west side of Lake Hasty.

Group Picnic Area

Picnic Sites

Tables and fire rings are located by the shore or in shaded areas and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not use campsites if you are not camping, so that others may use them.

Showers

Coin-operated showers are located in the Camper Services Building at the Lake Hasty Campground. The Camper Service Building is open from Early April until Late October. A park pass is required to use the Campers Services.

Swim Beach

The swim beach is located on Lake Hasty, a 1/4 mile walk from the campground. It is open from Memorial Day, Monday May 27th, through Labor Day weekend.

Trails

The Red Shin Hiking Trail begins at the stilling basin below John Martin Dam. It winds through the park for approximately 4.3 miles to the Santa Fe Trail Historic Site on the north shore of the reservoir, providing excellent opportunities to view wildlife, Native American rock art, historic buildings and canals, and part of the original Santa Fe Trail.
