Amphitheatre - 5/11/2012
AHRA has a small outdoor Amphitheatre at our Ruby Mountain campground which hosts programs throughout the summer.
Boat Ramps - 8/31/2012
For information on boat access points, check out the AHRA Map from the "Maps and Directions" link on the left side of Arkansas Headwaters' main page. There are 24 boat ramps available.
Campgrounds - 5/11/2012
The 152-mile-long AHRA has six basic campgrounds with tent pads, picnic tables and grills and most camp site parking will also accommodate larger RV units. There is no running water or other utilities. There are also several undeveloped camping areas belonging to the Bureau of Land Management along the Arkansas River. Entrance Station - 5/11/2012
All AHRA recreation sites are self-serve passes and camping permits. AHRA's visitor center is located in Salida and has staff available throughout the year.
Group Picnic Area - 5/11/2012
Collegiate Peaks Overlook group picnic site is located 1 mile east of Johnson Village off Highways 24 and 285, turning north onto County Road 304. There is a panoramic view of the Collegiate Peaks and Arkansas River Valley with a viewing pavilion and interpretive panels and benches. For group picnics there is one covered pavilion with 6 picnic tables and two covered pavilions with one picnic table each. This is also a wonderful location for a small outdoor wedding. Collegiate Peaks can be reserved for group use by calling AHRA at 719-539-7289.
Horse Trailer Parking - 5/11/2012
There are no facilities for horses at AHRA campgrounds. There is a corral at Collegiate Peaks Overlook Day Use site and adjoining equestrian trails.
Showers - 5/11/2012
There are NO showers at AHRA campgrounds, nor water or any hook-ups. Salida Chamber does have a dumping station and water for RV's.

Visitor Center - 5/11/2012
The AHRA Visitor Center is located in downtown Salida at the corner of G and Sackett Streets. To get to the AHRA Visitor Center from the intersection of Highways 285/24, turn left/south on Highway 285, drive 14 miles to Hwy 291, turn left, drive 8 miles to G St, turn left 1 block to Sackett Ave, turn left. The Visitor Center is on left corner of G and Sackett Streets. From the intersection of Highways 50/291, turn north on Hwy 291 (1st Street), go one block past the stop light to G Street, turn right 1 block to Sackett Ave, turn left. The Visitor center is on left corner of Sackett and G Streets.
Wedding Facilities - 5/11/2012
