Snowmobile Grant Program

Since 1978, the Colorado Snowmobile Capital Grants Program has allocated thousands of dollars to successful applicants to purchase new groomers, repair existing groomers, for trailhead improvements, construction of permanent groomer and maintenance facilities and for the purchase of signs and trail marking materials.

Guidelines followed to determine allocations are that the project:

  • Provides for, or supports, safe, quality, snowmobiling opportunities to the general public;
  • Provides for, or supports, quality, snowmobile trail systems;
  • Provides for snowmobile, trail-related, facilities that enhance the snowmobiling experience;
  • Provides for the connection of snowmobile trail systems into a statewide network; and
  • Eligible applicants for these funds are Colorado snowmobile clubs and land management agencies.

Grant Agreements

Per the State of Colorado, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Wildlife Grant Agreement regarding subgrantees and ineligible costs submitted for reimbursement:

"Sub-grantee" means third-parties, if any, engaged by Grantee to aid in performance of its obligations and;

A. Assignment and Subgrants

"All assignments, subGrants, or Sub-grantees approved by Grantee or the State are subject to all of the provisions hereof (e.g., contractual; parentheses added). Grantee shall be solely responsible for all aspects of subGranting arrangements and performance."
