Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS)

Aquatic Nuisance Species or ANS is a group of plants and animals that live in water and when transported to a new lake, can cause biological, economic and recreational damage. They can be taken to new lakes on trailered watercraft.
Once ANS get into a large lake, there is no way to remove them. They can cost million of dollars in maintenance and downtime to dams and water facilities for removal and treatment. Preventing their spread is best control method we have.
